Bid Date: 2026-03-05
Project Description:
Site investigation summary report to the client to document completion of the task.
Engineering assessment report to the client to document completion of site
investigations.
Conceptual construction documents including plans, sections and BMPs.
Descriptions of estimated costs, construction process, work sequence, material
specifications. A construction site meeting during the installation to observe the work.
Special Instructions
Task 1. Site Investigations
Contractor will inspect the site and visually assess the condition of the existing shoreline
above and below the waterline. Measurements and other data will be collected on the general
condition of the existing shoreline area. This information will be used to develop a
conceptual engineering design for the permit applications that will be required to install
the experimental blue-green erosion control system.
Deliverable: Site investigation summary report to the client to document completion of the
task.
Task 2. Engineering Assessment
Contractor will develop an engineering assessment built on a pilot installation site(s) that
will include the study of the background information provided by the Client, the available
projections of shoreline hazards in the area and the existing site conditions. Available
background topographic and geotechnical information provided by the client, together with
water level and wave data will be used to evaluate the erosion process and develop a
conceptual design for the erosion control system for discussion with the client.
Deliverable: Engineering assessment report to the client to document completion of site
investigations.
Task 3. Conceptual Design
Contractor will develop concept design documents for the installation of a novel blue-green
shoreline erosion control project. Contractor will help the client select one or two sites
for the installation, which will build upon a pilot project that was completed. The design
is anticipated to include the installation of one or two concrete mattresses along the
shoreline at each site (approx. 300 ft. sq. per site). The concept design documents will
include information typically required for permit applications including the proposed layout
of the project, descriptions of the construction materials and sequence, a preliminary
construction cost estimate, and a BMP plan. The concept design should also include
landscaping design of using carefully selected native coastal plant species for the blue-
green shoreline project that will assist in coastal erosion control, and provide potential
habitat for native sea birds. This information will be prepared in draft form and submitted
to the Client for comments. The contractor will incorporate timely requests made by the
Client in its revised, final documents. The Client is responsible for consultation with
necessary permit agencies, and in submitting necessary permit applications and supporting
documents. Post-submission revisions to plans, additional requirements from agencies, and
attendance at public and other hearings post design services are not included as part of
this cost proposal.
Deliverable: Conceptual construction documents including plans, sections and BMPs.
Descriptions of estimated costs, construction process, work sequence, material
specifications. A construction site meeting during the installation to observe the work.
