Special Instructions
The Hawaii Institute for Marine Biology (HIMB) requests a quote for the purchase,
delivery, rigging, and installation of two (2) new 2026 Yamaha 250 HP marine outboard
engines on a 45-foot Corinthian catamaran.
The quote shall include:
- Two (2) new 2026 Yamaha 250 HP four-stroke marine outboard engines
- Two (2) Bay Manufacturing 5-inch Yamaha outboard extensions, as required to achieve the
vesselaEURtms existing 30-inch installation configuration
- Mechanical/non-digital control compatible
- Appropriate propeller rotation configuration for twin-engine installation
- All associated extension hardware and installation components
- Propellers, mounting hardware, rigging components, and other materials required for a
complete installation, as applicable
All installation work must be performed with the vessel remaining in the water at:
University of Hawaii Marine Center (UHMC)
Pier 35 - Honolulu Harbor
Honolulu, Hawaii
The vessel is a 45-foot Corinthian catamaran equipped with Yamaha twin 250hp outboards.
The contractor must be capable of disconnecting the existing outboard engines and
installing the new outboard engines while the vessel remains waterborne. Once the existing
engines are disconnected and ready for removal, the University of Hawai\\\'i will
coordinate
and provide the necessary crane or forklift and operator to remove the existing engines
and position/hang the new engines for installation.
The contractor will be responsible for all other aspects of the engine removal and
installation. Haul-out of the vessel shall not be required or included as part of the
proposed installation.
REQUIREMENTS:

2. Your company must be able to provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI). See the RCUH
2.402 policy PDF attached for reference.
3. The awarded vendor shall be required to enter into an RCUH Agreement for Services (see
Attachment 08a) prior to commencement of services. A sample of Attachment 08a is
included with this solicitation for the vendor\\\'s review. Vendors are responsible for
reviewing the terms and conditions contained in Attachment 08a prior to submitting a
Quote.

- YAMAHA AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENT
Bidder must be a current Yamaha Authorized Dealer and Service Provider. Installation, rigging, commissioning, and warranty-related work must be performed by a Yamaha authorized dealer.
- SUBCONTRACTING IS NOT PERMITTED
Subcontracting of this work is not permitted without prior written approval. The Bidder remains fully responsible for all work and compliance with Yamaha installation and warranty requirements.
