Project Description:
Provide all labor necessary to replace AFD for the chiller as indicated in the plans and specifications. The proposed work shall generally include removal, disposal and replacement of the chiller AFD per manufacturer’s specifications. Start-up the chiller per manufacturer’s recommendations and perform system checks to confirm proper operations. Submit all data collected to the university of Hawaii facilities management office, attention: Carl Oshiro prior to request for final inspection. All work located at Queen Liliuokalani for Student Services, UHM.

Special Instructions
ALL bidders are requested to attend a mandatory site walk-through. A site walk through is scheduled for 8:00am on Thursday July 23, 2026. Contractors shall meet at the Physical Plant Mechanical Engineer Office located at 2002 East- West Road. Contract documents will be distributed at the mandatory walk through. Contractors interested in bidding this work must contact Carl Oshiro through email ( coshiro6@hawaii.edu), facsimile (956-5979) or phone (956-0479) to confirm attendance by 4:00 p.m. Wednesday July 22, 2026. Contractors who DO NOT attend a mandatory site walk-through will not be allowed to bid on this work. Contractor is required to provide a cost breakdown at time of bid. The breakdown must equal to the total cost of the bid. If correct breakdown is not provided at time of bid, the bid may be disqualified.

Addendum

Add to mechanical specification:
Clarification of the whole panel- Not just the top part cabinet but also the bottom section (cabinet) of the drive. Make sure everything is new. Also replace the wires from the motor to the drive section. make sure all connection is tight. Install the tape/insulation for the motor terminals. Leak check around the terminals after replacing wires.
Make sure the drive section works properly with the chiller control panel.
After start up,Log and record all the voltage and amperage of each leg. Also log and record all the pressures and tempeature of the chiller. All recordings must be on the work order that msut be given to the university represenative. All readings must be taken at full load.
Remove the sentence that the first drive must be working before moveing to the second drive

Add to bid. Chiller 1 Reclaim all the refrigerant and replace the economizer for the chiller. Replace all the gaskets for the economizer connections. Add new insulation for the economizer and all the connecting section. Also replace the 3A2 circuit board for the purge unit.
