Project Description:
Provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and insurance necessary for the
designing, obtaining required permits to, provide and installing a solar photovoltaic
system with a minimum capacity of 12 kW which shall include but not limited to,
electrical conduits, thermal moisture protection, lithium-ion batteries, DC to AC
inverters and all electrical and miscellaneous items to include any and all
incidental and related services required for a complete working system. The existing
photovoltaic system to be replaced shall be removed and disposed of off-site in
accordance with the general and special terms and conditions and technical
specifications.
Special Instructions
Job Site Walk-Through
Due to conditions at the site that may not be clearly identified in technical
specifications and plans, it is highly recommended that all bidders visit the site. Job
site walk-through, scheduled for May 20, 2026, at 10:00AM. Meet at the Pu`u Huluhulu
Parking lot located across of the Mauna Kea Access Road. 4x4 vehicles will be required to
access the project site. A RSVP will be required no later than May 15, 2026, please email
the Technical Representative, Troy Samura, University of Hawaii at Hilo, at
tsamura@hawaii.edu.
Substitutions/Clarifications
Requests for substitutions/clarifications regarding the RFQ and its requirements must be
submitted to the Technical Representative, Troy Samura, University of Hawaii at Hilo, at
tsamura@hawaii.edu no later than 4:00 p.m. (HST) on May 27, 2026.
