Project Description: Provide all labor, tools and equipment necessary to perform annual palm tree maintenance services at four (4) project sites on the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s main campus, 200 W. Kawili Street, Hilo, Hawaii in strict accordance with the true intent and meaning of the attached Technical Specifications. The quotation shall include all material and non-material costs, transportation, insurance premiums, administrative support, overhead, all applicable taxes (Federal and State) and any miscellaneous and incidental work required to complete the scope of work.
Project Site #1: UH Hilo main entrance (Kawili Street): Approximately twenty-one (21) royal palm trees.
Project Site #2: UH Hilo’s Theater entrance (Kawili Street): Approximately twentyone 21 bangalow palm trees.
Project Site #3: UH Hilo’s main signage (crner of Kapiolani Street and Kawili Street): Approximately seventeen (17) royal palm trees.
Project Site #4: UH Hilo’s main campus courtyard between Campus Center and the Mo`okini Library: Approximately five (5) royal palm trees.

Special Instructions

2.This solicitation includes palm tree maintenance at four project sites on UH Hilo’s main campus. Offerors may visit the project sites on any workday from 8:00am - 4:30pm. There is no charge for parking.

3.Offerors are strongly encouraged to visit the various project locations and be familiarized with all existing conditions and restrictions of the project sites. No additional allowance or price adjustment will be granted based on lack of knowledge of such conditions, or failure to perform site investigations prior to submitting a quote. See attached Technical Specifications for detailed information.

4.To be eligible for award, offeror must be HCE compliant. See attached Technical Specifications for detailed information.

Line Item 1 shall include the total bid amount for the 3 pruning services at all 4 project locations.

Palm tree maintenance shall be performed three times, during Spring Break; and prior to Fall semester and Spring semester within the following specified time period:
a. 2026 Spring Break: Onsite work shall commence no earlier than March 16, 2026 and shall be completed no later than March 20, 2026.
b. Fall 2026 semester: Onsite work shall commence no earlier than August 1, 2026 and shall be completed no later than August 15, 2026.
c. Spring 2027 semester: Onsite work shall commence no earlier than December 21, 2026 and completed no later than January 8, 2027.
