This section indicates the Technical Specifications for the industrial jointers required. The Technical Specifications listed herein are the minimum requirements and are mandatory for an accepted bid.

Item No. 1: Furnish and Deliver TWO (2) New Laguna J|16 Industrial Jointers or approved substitution, with the following specifications:

12. The machine must feature a parallelogram table design, allowing the tables to travel in the same arc as the cutter head to maintain tight chip breaker gaps and minimize tear-out. A digital readout (DRO) for the in feed table is required to ensure repeatable accuracy to within 0.001 inches.
13. The jointer must be equipped with a spring-loaded, articulating bridge guard.
14. An emergency stop (E-Stop) must be easily accessible from the operator’s position.
15. All electrical components must be UL/CSA listed and comply with OSHA industrial safety standards.
16. Must include all applicable User’s Manual, Study Guide, and Instructor’s Guide

On Site Demonstration

Delivery and Installation
Vendor will need to offload and place the equipment into the shop where it will be located.
- Uncrate/unpack the equipment
- Removal of wooden crate and packing

Special Instructions
The equipment must be brand new. Equipment must have original manufactures warranty. Refurbished equipment NOT acceptable.

Delivery must be during normal business hours M-F 7:45am - 4:30pm close on State and Federal Holidays and within 90 days After PO is received.

Delivery will be at Bld 14, 1st Flr

Input Shipping/Handling and Taxes in the appropriate lines.

Shipping will be FOB Destination.

Total Price Must include All applicable costs including shipping/delivery/handling and taxes.

Partial bids not accepted.

Provide adequate delivery support to unload heavy items.

All substitutions are subject to prior approval.

For items requesting “equivalency” consideration, please email your proposal by January 5, 2026 and explain how your proposed equivalent item meets each specification identified on the RFQ. We shall provide a determination by January 8, 2026.

We reserve the right to determine equivalency.

Awarded vendor is required to provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) per the attached University of Hawaii requirements.
