Project Description: The Maui District, Division of State Parks is requesting pumping and maintenance services of septic systems at three east Maui State parks. These services are being solicited for Kaumahina and Pua’aka’a Wayside parks, and the Waianapanapa State park. The following pumping schedule is recommended along with monthly EM – 1 bacteria treatment, to be administered through the systems distribution boxes at each facility. This contract services will begin on January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
Kaumahina State Park:
Two Tanks: Total required services for this facility is (25) twenty five.
Tank (A) is the front tank, this tank captures mainly solids and will be required to be completely pumped and serviced twice (2 - times) each month. 24 total services for this tank for the duration of this contract 12 months (1 year). Preferably pumping will be conducted during the beginning and middle of each month.
Tank (B) is the rear tank; this tank captures mainly fluids / water. This tank will require one (1) complete pumping and servicing for the duration of this contract (1 year). EM-1 Bacteria treatment required.
Pua’aka’a Wayside Park: (12 - total services)
Two side by side tanks are located at this facility. Tank (A) and tank (B). These tanks will require a complete pump out on a rotational basis amongst both tanks. Each tank will need to be pumped every other month for a total six (6) pumps per tank for the 12 -month (1 - year) duration of this contract. EM-1 Bacteria treatment required.
Waianapanapa State Park: (12 - total services)
Two side by side tanks are located at this facility. Tank (A) and tank (B). These tanks will require a complete pump out on a rotational basis amongst both tanks. Each tank will need to be pumped every other month for a total six (6) pumps per tank for the 12 - month (1 - year) duration if this contract. EM-1 Bacteria treatment required. This park will need to be serviced on either the second or fourth Thursday of the month when the campground is unoccupied during the morning hours for scheduled grounds and facility maintenance in that area.
A total of 49 combined pumping and servicing required for all three facilities are being solicited for this 1 - year contract period.
Option to Extend – The term of this agreement shall be for one year with the option to extend for an additional year without re-bidding, upon mutual agreement in writing between the State and the Contractor. Provided, however, the price for the pumping services during the extended period shall remain the same or lower than the initial bid price. The additional year of service would be from 1/1/2027 through 12/31/2027.
General Comments
Contracted services are not to begin until the purchase order has been approved and vendor has been notified and provided a copy of the final contract agreement.
Option to Extend – The term of this agreement shall be for one year with the option to extend for an additional year (1/1/2027– 12/31/2027) without re-bidding, upon mutual agreement in writing between the State and the Contractor. Provided, however, the price for the pumping services during the extended period shall remain the same or lower than the initial bid price.
