Project Description: Install, test and certify one (1/each) factory new 54kW electrical booster water heater component into the existing Hobart model C44A (Serial No.: 85-1026282) hot water sanitizing conveyor dishwasher system at Kauai Community College’s Culinary Arts Fine Dining Dish and Pot Wash #2. Vendor shall test and certify that the dishwasher system is fully functional and that the sanitizing cycle is operating at a temperature of 180-degrees Fahrenheit.
Preferred Features of the component shall include the following:
*The factory new booster water heater shall have the capacity to heat 542gph (2052gph) from 60°F to 180°F (15°C to 82°C) and it shall be rated at 54kW, 208volts, 3-phase. The tank shall be designed for a minimum working pressure of 150 psi (1034 kPa), have a 16-gallon (60 liter) capacity with ASME Section VIII stamped construction.
*The heater shall be complete with all internal plumbing, including pipe and fittings compatible with existing inlet and outlet. Changes to plumbing size and connections are acceptable as long as they adhere to all performance requirements. All controls shall be built-in, including contactors and prewired in accordance with UL #1453 and 422.11 NEL 2002. A surface mounted circuit breaker or fused disconnect switch shall be utilized.
*Electric heating elements shall be metal sheathed, controlled by ambient compensating thermostats. The booster shall be protected with high temperature limit switch (ECO) and low-water cut-off. Heater shall be properly shielded and insulated to minimize heat loss.
*The heater shall consist of stainless-steel front and silver-gray hammertone body with standard 6” (152 mm) legs (or stainless steel body, base, and stainless steel adjustable legs).
*The heater shall include a temperature/pressure relief valve, high-temperature pressure reducing valve with bypass, and two indicating temperature/pressure gauges.
* Maximum Dimensions To Fit Existing Compartment: 23.8”W x 23”D x 31.50”H
*The heater shall include a minimum One (1) Year Parts and Labor Warranty PLUS a minimum Eight to Ten (8-10) Years Parts-Only Warranty.

Special Instructions
1. All questions shall be emailed to Marty Amaro at mamaro@hawaii.edu no later than Thursday, June 5, 2025. A response will be provided no later than Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
2. A jobsite evaluation shall be by appointment only. Please email Marty Amaro at mamaro@hawaii.edu no later than 12pm on Friday, June 6, 2025 to schedule an appointment. Appointments shall be conducted before 2pm on Thursday June 12, 2025.
3. All items must be new with Manufacturer standard warranty. Used and or refurbished equipment will not be accepted.
4. All bids should be accompanied with product information and dimensions so that proper evaluation of the bids can be properly made. Bids submitted without product information and dimensions may not be considered as part of this request.
5. All work shall be conducted at the Campus Center Culinary Arts Fine Dining Dish and Pot Wash #2 at Kaua`i Community College, 3-1901 Kaumuali`i Highway, Lihu`e, HI 96766, which is located on the ground floor; no stairs. Vendor must email Marty Amaro at mamaro@hawaii.edu at least one week prior to the commencement date. An acknowledgement will be provided within 48 hours. 6. Quoted price must be all inclusive, including but not limited to the costs for the equipment, taxes, fees, shipping, handling, delivery, assembly, installation, testing and certification in the area designated.
7. Vendor must ensure that the booster water heater installation is performed by professional installers, using the best standard practices and shall be scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Any damage to the building interior, scratched walls, etc. will be the responsibility of the awarded vendor.
8. Vendor shall disconnect, remove and dispose of existing failed booster water heater and dispose of all discarded materials. Vendor is responsible for removal of all packaging materials from the job site on a daily basis. The use of Kaua`i Community College dumpsters or trash receptacles is prohibited.
9. Quotes shall be valid for 90 days from the closing date of bid. Awards to be based on funding availability.
10. The delivery to campus, assembly, installation and testing of the booster water heater shall be completed within 8 weeks After Receipt of Order (i.e., issuance of purchase order).
11. Once awarded through CommercePoint, vendors must provide the following along with their signed award: (a) Under the Hawai`i Revised Statutes SS 103D-310(c), upon award of contract, all offerors must ensure compliance with the laws governing entities doing business in the State of Hawai`i. Offerors will be expected to provide their “Certificate of Vendor Compliance” identifying their current status as “Compliant” on the Hawai`i Compliance Express https://vendors.ehawaii.gov/hce/).
(b) A current Certificate of Insurance that meets the requirements specified on the attached Special Conditions (Attachment A).
12. All awards are subject to the University of Hawai`i Terms and Conditions Applicable to All Purchase Orders (Attachment B); failure to agree and/or submission of separate terms and conditions may warrant disqualification.
