Project Description: Provide all labor necessary to repair the cooling tower as indicated in the plans and specifications. Start-up the tower per manufacturer’s recommendations and perform system checks to confirm proper operations. Submit all data collected to the university of Hawaii facilities management office, attention: Carl Oshiro prior to request for final inspection. All work located at Holmes Hall Building, UHM.

Special Instructions
ALL bidders are requested to attend a mandatory site walk-through. A site walk through is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Friday May 16, 2025. Contractors shall meet at the Physical Plant Mechanical Engineer Office located at 2002 East- West Road. Contract documents will be distributed at the mandatory walk through. Contractors interested in bidding this work must contact Carl Oshiro through email ( coshiro6@hawaii.edu), facsimile (956-5979) or phone (956-0479) to confirm attendance by 4:00 p.m. Thursday May 15, 2025. Contractors who DO NOT attend a mandatory site walk-through will not be allowed to bid on this work. Contractor is required to provide a cost breakdown at time of bid. The breakdown must equal to the total cost of the bid. If correct breakdown is not provided at time of bid, the bid may be disqualified.

Add to scope- Replace 3 cooling tower fan wheel housing and bearing brackets. Must weld the bracket to the tower. Must seal the new
housing and new bearing brackets penetration to the sump properly.

Add to scope of work- Replace 3 cooling tower fan housing and 2 bearings brackets for the tower closes to Dole Street. Weld the bearing
brackets. Make sure to seal the penetration to the sump properly so water does not leak out of any screw and/or penetrations.
