Project Description: The work to be performed under this contract consists of removing existing and installing (15) new roadway Expansion Joint Cover with new ABS West Expansion Joint Cover or approved equal on Inter-Island Terminal Parking Garage, 4th and 5th floor roadways. Substitution for ABS West Expansion Joint Cover shall be submitted for review and approval to State Project Manager (10) working days prior to bid due date. Roadway expansion joints are approximately 60 feet long. See Exhibit A for jobsite location. Work shall include: 1) Removal of temporary gap filler material (i.e. wood stud, metal plate), 2) Remove old expansion joint from roadway construction joint, 3) Prepare construction joint and roadway surface, 4) Furnish and install new expansion joints, 5) Apply industrial strength adhesive to roadway surface as needed, and 6) Install expansion joint cover section. New Expansion Joint and Cover shall not be installed in multiple sections over roadway.
