Project Description: The scope of work consists of the rehabilitation of Honolua Bridge. The project includes new abutments outside of the existing abutments to remain, approach slabs and concrete superstructure that has a load capacity consistent with current design standards, has MASH 2016 compliant parapets, signage and striping compliant with Hawaii Department of Transportation and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices standards, and a temporary traffic detour road and temporary bridge constructed on the makai side of the highway right-of-way to allow the road to remain open during construction. The proposed bridge deck will be 18-feet wide and 40-feet long.
