Project Description: 1. Repair all delamination/spalled unsound concrete, and replace steel reinforcement where necessary. a. Repair quantities below are estimations. Actual field repair quantities shall be verified by visual observation, sounding, and actual performance of the repairs. Contractor to document calculations and actual quantities. i. 300 SQ FT Partial depth spall repair. ii. 300 SQ FT Full depth spall repair. iii. 1500 LBS Reinforcing steel replacement. b. Contractor shall provide necessary best management practices (BMP) for storm water pollution including permits and devices. Contractors shall prevent any debris/dust from entering streams/waters. i. No concrete/metal can be left on site, tarp below all work in dry stream, maintain/secure work site. 2. Work must be performed during low tide hours. 3. Work must be done in sections and performed one section at a time. Work section must not be subjected to live loads from traffic above. 4. Lanes above section must be closed off during work including the start of sectioned demo to the end of the minimum 2-hour concrete cure time before opening to traffic. 5. Contractor is responsible all traffic control plans including required safety devices/equipment required. 6. Contractor must be highly skilled in this type of repair with proof of and in good standing. Repair Materials: 1. REPAIR CONCRETE FOR FORM AND POUR SPALL REPAIRS SHALL BE SIKACRETE 421 CI RAPID BY SIKA CORP., OR APPROVED EQUAL. ALL REPAIRS SHALL BE FORMED. 2. REINFORCING BARS, INSERTS, AND OTHER ITEMS TO BE CAST IN THE CONCRETE SHALL BE SECURED IN POSITION PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF CONCRETE. 3. REINFORCING STEEL FOR WELD SPLICING SHALL BE ASTM A706 GRADE 60. WELDING ELECTRODES SHALL BE LOW HYDROGEN E70. 4. ANTI-CORROSION COATING FOR REINFORCING STEEL SHALL BE ARMATEC 110 EPOCEM BY SIKA CORP., OR APPROVED EQUAL. 5. TIE WIRE SHALL BE PLASTIC-COATED, STAINLESS STEEL, OR MADE OF DIELECTRIC OR OTHER ACCEPTABLE MATERIAL.
